• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Perform other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• If PTCB certified, coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in operating pharmacy systems and cash registers.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers.
• Assist in maintaining pharmacy workflow, including scheduling and inventory management.
• Report prescription errors to pharmacist immediately and adhere to company policies related to errors and quality improvement.
• Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policy during dispensing activities.
• Handle cash register sales, maintain cash handling procedures, and guide customers to OTC aisle when appropriate.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including physician calls.
• Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services efficiently.
• Assist in inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services and coordinate with Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
• Assist Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in building relationships with local medical community through outreach.
• Assist in maintaining pharmacy area, ensuring it is stocked, clean, neat, and orderly.
• Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and comply with all company policies.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through designated training program or state requirement. Earn as condition of promotion to senior technician if not already certified.
• Attend required training, complete PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits to maintain up-to-date knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy.

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
• Strong computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
