Position Title: Crating/Assembly

Wage: $17.00 per hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm (Mon-Fri)

QPS Employment Group has a great Crating/Assembly position available at a company in Centerville, IA. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.

• Responsible for assembly of refrigeration and final assembly departments.
• Always visually inspect metal for imperfections.
• Assemble kits for refrigeration units.
• Assemble refrigeration units per quality standards and work order instructions.
• Perform any assembly-type function, using hand or power tools.
• Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or fasteners.
• Utilize electrical testing equipment.
• Work at a different workstation as production needs require.
• Identify parts used on their assigned product line, and their placement location on the product itself.
• Maintain work area in clean, safe and orderly manner.
• Read blueprints, schematic drawings to determine location, size, capacity and type of components needed.
• Cut bend, braze specified tubing to inlets and outlets of components to form liquid and suction lines of refrigeration systems.
• Remove air from system and charges system with specified amount and type of refrigerant.
• Conduct pre-startup check on all equipment.
• Read and follow written and verbal instructions.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs. throughout shift.
• Must be able to work in a hot environment.
• Must be able to work lying down, standing, or while sitting.
• Must be able to complete fast paced hand eye movements.
• Previous experience in electrical, carpentry, or refrigeration types of work a plus.
• The ability to read blueprints or a work order is required.
• Basic skills of hand held power tools and measurement devices.
• Ability to write and verbally communicate with other employees and supervisor.
