The Safety Assistant implements and maintains safety programs in compliance with OSHA 1926 standards for commercial construction. This position plays a critical role in conducting job site safety inspections, assisting with training, and supporting overall safety culture at Hogan & Associates Construction. The Safety Assistant will help monitor compliance with safety plans, maintain safety documentation, and ensure that job sites remain safe and hazard‑free.

- Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring the company’s safety programs to comply with OSHA 1926 standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct and oversee job site safety inspections, identify hazards, and report findings to the Safety Manager and project Supervisors.
- Participate in and conduct safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety.
- Assist in investigating incidents, near‑misses, and injuries, documenting findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Maintain safety records and documentation, including site audits, training logs, and incident reports.
- Ensure all safety equipment, such as PPE, is available, in good condition, and properly used by site personnel.
- Monitor compliance with site‑specific safety plans and make recommendations for improvements.
- Administer random and suspicious‑cause drug tests in accordance with company policy.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA 1926 standards and general commercial construction safety practices.
- OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety certification required, or willingness to complete upon accepting position.
- Previous experience in a safety‑related role within the construction industry is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams on multiple construction sites.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Comfortable with teaching, training, and public speaking.
- Spanish bilingual is a plus
