A rural independent school in Ampthill is seeking a versatile Humanities Teacher to teach History and Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-organised teacher who enjoys delivering a broad and engaging humanities curriculum.
The RoleTeach across two subjects: Deliver high-quality History and Geography lessons to students across KS3 and KS4.
Develop analytical skills: Encourage students to interpret evidence, evaluate arguments and explain geographical processes.
Plan engaging lessons: Use a wide range of resources, case studies, maps and historical sources.
Support examination preparation: Prepare students for GCSE assessments and internal examinations.
Promote independent learning: Encourage research, extended writing and structured discussion.
Contribute to enrichment: Support trips, fieldwork, clubs and humanities-related activities.
The CandidateHumanities specialist: Has a strong academic background in History, Geography or both.
Qualified teacher: Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised qualification.
Versatile practitioner: Can confidently teach across both humanities subjects.
Excellent planner: Produces clear, differentiated and purposeful lessons.
Strong communicator: Builds positive relationships and explains concepts effectively.
Enrichment focused: Is keen to support trips, projects and wider school activities.
