Larksfield and Arlesey Medical Partnership is seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our friendly clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced phlebotomist who enjoys working in a patient‑focused primary care environment and being part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out venepuncture procedures on patients of all ages in line with current clinical guidelines. Duties include accurately labelling and processing samples, maintaining infection control standards, providing reassurance to patients, and ensuring clinical rooms and equipment are prepared and maintained. You will also be expected to manage workload efficiently, maintain clear and accurate records, and work collaboratively with clinicians and administrative staff.

Job responsibilitiesLarksfield and Arlesey Medical Partnership is looking for an experienced and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our dedicated primary care team. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide high‑quality patient care in a supportive and friendly environment.
Main Duties of the Role- Perform venepuncture safely and efficiently on patients of all ages in line with current clinical guidelines.
- Accurately label, process, and store blood samples, ensuring compliance with laboratory and infection control procedures.
- Prepare and maintain clinical rooms, equipment, and supplies.
- Provide reassurance and support to patients, maintaining a professional and friendly manner at all times.
- Maintain accurate patient records and data entry in line with practice protocols.
- Collaborate with GPs, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure smooth workflow and efficient patient care.
- Follow all health and safety, confidentiality, and safeguarding procedures.
- Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am–2:00pm
- 25 to 30 hours per week flexible within this range depending on practice needs
- Good general standard of education, including literacy and numeracy skills
- Care certificate or equivalent for Phlebotomy
- Up to date knowledge of infection control, health and safety, and safe handling of biological samples.
- Previous experience in a GP practice or primary care environment.
- Knowledge of NHS systems, policies, and procedures.
- Additional training in clinical procedures or healthcare support roles.
