As the CNC Miller, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry!

You will be involved in:
  • Set, operate, and maintain high‑precision CNC Milling machines in a fast‑paced, R&D‑oriented shop
  • Be comfortable on multi‑axis milling centres
  • Design machining processes, select and optimize tooling, write G‑code, and oversee production of high‑value, low‑volume parts and one‑offs
  • Participate in daily shop briefings to discuss objectives, issues, and improvement ideas
  • Mentoring apprentices, collaborating closely with engineering and tooling suppliers, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
Your skillset may include:
  • Programming, set up, and running in multi-axis machining methods (3, 4, and 5 axis)
  • Skilled in using Heidenheim, Fanuc, and Siemens controls;
    Edit CNC programs, set fixtures and tooling, proving out and operating CNC multi-axis machines to produce R and D and production component parts
  • Making work offset, tooling, and program adjustments
  • Working to specifications, procedures, and engineering drawings
  • Inspecting produced parts using various measuring instruments and hand gauges and interprets CMM inspection results
  • Supporting the development of machining processes and tooling/fixture design
  • Liaising with engineering to improve machining methods
  • Experience of 6S and lean manufacturing tools and techniques
