Pay: £14.76 an hour (up to £15.97 inside the M25). Work from midnight to 6 am earns an additional night premium of £2.35 per hour. Minimum guaranteed hours are 12 to 16 per week; flexible hours are available.
The role is scheduled around nightly shifts, typically from 22:00 to 07:00, with a three‑week notice of shift dates. Availability across the week is highly flexible; we support a match to your preferred times when possible.
Key responsibilities- Co‑ordinate the store team to deliver a hassle‑free shopping experience.
- Support colleagues to meet daily priorities and take regular breaks.
- Open, close, and manage duty cover to ensure safety and compliance.
- Act as the main point of contact in the manager’s absence.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and well‑presented store.
- Assist with seasonal, community, and charity events.
- Foster an inclusive, positive team atmosphere.
- Provide outstanding customer service and actively listen to customer needs.
- Communicate updates and changes to the team.
- Drive continuous improvement of store performance and operations.
- Remove obstacles and coordinate store improvements.
- Follow health and safety procedures and encourage colleagues to do the same.
- Recognise and celebrate excellent service from team members.
- Excellent customer‑service skills and a genuine interest in meeting customer needs.
- Strong relationship‑building ability with a focus on creating a positive, inclusive team culture.
- Clear and confident communicator using multiple channels.
- Ability to lead and oversee the store in the absence of the manager.
- Sound decision‑making, flexibility, and adaptability to changing circumstances.
- Motivation to inspire the team to surpass expectations.
