Job Description:
As an Accounts Assistant/Accounts Payable, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our finance department. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, including payroll processing, pension auto-enrolment, and bank reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll and Pension Management:
Process staff payroll in a timely and accurate manner. - Manage auto-enrolments and pension contributions, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Calculate SSP (Statutory Sick Pay), SMP (Statutory Maternity Pay), and other related payments
- Accounting Software:
Maintain accurate financial records using Sage 50 and Quick Books. - Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Bank Reconciliation:
Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records. - Invoicing and Payments:
Process invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors. - Handle queries related to accounts payable and receivable
- Reporting and Analysis:
Assist in preparing financial reports and maintaining budgets. - Support in preparing monthly and annual financial statements
- Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of auto-enrolments, pension management, and payroll processes.
- Proficiency in Sage 50, Quick Books, and other accounting software.
- Excellent understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation.
- Ability to calculate and process SSP, SMP, and other statutory payments accurately.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Qualifications
:
- A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- AAT qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
