This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to build a solid foundation within a truly global law firm. Based in London, you'll join a collaborative and well‑structured finance function, supporting accurate financial record‑keeping across multiple legal entities. What

You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the Assistant Accountant and Client Legal Cashier, your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

  • Providing cover for the Accounts Payable function during busy periods or absences
  • Assisting with the annual SRA Solicitors Accounts Rules audit
  • Processing accounting journal entries across the firm's multi‑entity books
  • Completing monthly and quarterly Office for National Statistics (ONS) returns
  • Assisting in the preparation of VAT returns
  • Processing client account payments and office‑to‑client transfers under appropriate supervision
  • Completing bank reconciliations for both office and client accounts
  • Supporting accounting system implementations, including user acceptance testing and training
  • Carrying out ad hoc financial and tax analyses as required
  • Calculating and processing quarterly interest on client accounts
  • Supporting the preparation of annual financial statements in line with UK Financial Reporting Standards
  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, following up on outstanding items in a timely manner
  • Assisting with the statutory audit process, including collating documentation and liaising with external auditors
What We're Looking For
  • Strong A-levels or equivalent academic background
  • A minimum of one year's experience in a finance or accounts role within a law firm or professional services organisation
  • Confident working with Microsoft Excel and comfortable using generative AI tools in a professional context
  • Good IT literacy across standard finance and business software
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive, positive attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
