Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with an established and highly regarded accountancy practice in South West London, which is looking to recruit an Accounts & Audit Semi–Senior to join its friendly and professional team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practice–trained accountant looking to develop their career within a supportive environment, working with a varied portfolio of clients and gaining valuable exposure to both accounts and audit.
The RoleThis is a predominantly accounts–focused position, with approximately 70–80% of the role dedicated to accounts work and 20–30% to audit.
Working closely with experienced Seniors, Managers and Directors, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients while continuing to develop your technical and client–facing skills.
Your responsibilities will include:- Preparing year–end statutory accounts for a range of clients
- Preparing accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Supporting corporation tax compliance work
- Assisting with audit assignments, including audit planning, fieldwork and completion
- Preparing audit documentation and working papers
- Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
- Managing your own workload and ensuring assignments are completed within agreed deadlines
- Working collaboratively with Seniors, Managers and Directors across the practice
We are looking for an Accounts & Audit Semi–Senior with previous experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.
You will ideally have:
- At least 2 years' experience within an accountancy practice
- Previous exposure to audit work
- A good understanding of UK accounting standards
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- A proactive approach and genuine desire to develop your career in practice
You will ideally be AAT qualified or studying towards ACA/ACCA, although candidates with relevant practice experience will also be considered.
