La Coqueta is a premium, Spanish-inspired children’s wear brand, founded in London in 2013 and loved by families in the UK, US and around the world. We sell online, through our stores in Notting Hill and on Madison Avenue in New York, through concessions in Selfridges and Harrods, and through a growing wholesale business. As we grow, we’re looking for a Management Accountant to own month-end and run our day-to-day finance operation.
Therole
- own the monthly management accounts for our UK company and US subsidiary, including intercompany and group consolidation;
- prepare the board pack numbers, channel and store P&Ls, and the rolling cash forecast;
- keep the balance sheet reconciled every month, including stock and intercompany;
- oversee the weekly multi-currency cash flow, payments and hedging drawdowns;
- review and approve UK and US payroll;
- make sure UK, US and European sales tax returns are accurate and filed on time, and monitor US sales tax nexus;
- prepare the statutory accounts packs and work with our external advisers and auditors;
- improve and automate our processes, using new software and AI tools.
- A qualified or strong part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Hands-on month-end ownership, ideally in a multi-entity, multi-currency business.
- Some understanding of UK and US tax.
- Confident with Xero and Excel.
- Detail-oriented, with the judgement to focus on what matters.
- Experience leading or supporting a small team.
- Retail, e-commerce or consumer brand experience is a strong plus.
Working pattern: full time, Tuesday to Thursday in our Westbourne Park office, Monday and Friday from home.
