Location: City of Westminster

The London Diocesan Fund (LDF) is seeking a freelance Project Coordinator to support delivery of the Square Mile Churches:
The Way Forward project over a 12-month period. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider project team, the coordinator will provide day-to-day administration, communications, and coordination across the programme's activities. The role will help ensure effective communication, smooth project documentation, and sustained engagement with key stakeholders and project partners. The role would suit an organised and self‑motivated individual with experience in project coordination, communications, or administration, ideally within the heritage, cultural, charitable, or community sectors.

Scope

of Work
  • Project Coordination and Administration
    • Maintain project plans, action trackers, and project records.
    • Coordinate project events and workshops, including scheduling, agenda preparation, record keeping, and action follow‑up.
    • Maintain project documentation, contact databases, and administrative records.
    • Assist with preparation of progress reports and supporting documentation for funders and stakeholders.
    • Support correspondence and address routine enquiries.
  • Communications and Engagement
    • Support communications with City Deanery clergy, PCCs/GCCs, project partners, and wider stakeholders.
    • Coordinate logistics for engagement events, workshops, and meetings.
    • Maintain and update the Square Mile Churches website.
    • Draft newsletters, social media content, project updates, and other communications materials.
    • Assist with gathering and collating content, photography, and information relating to project activities.
  • Fundraising and Programme Support
    • Provide support to fundraising and development activity.
    • Assist with organisation of events and materials relating to the City Appeal Feasibility Study and associated engagement activities.
    • Support collection of monitoring and evaluation information, including surveys, visitor data, and digital analytics.
  • Buildings, Sustainability and Research Support
    • Collate information relating to quinquennial inspections and energy audits.
    • Support coordination of consultancy activities and associated documentation.
    • Conduct background research, briefing preparation, and meeting coordination relating to partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
Essential Experience
  • Experience in project coordination, administration, or communications support.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience maintaining websites and producing digital communications content.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and confidence using digital systems and online platforms.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a wider team.
  • An interest in heritage, culture, community engagement, or historic places.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience of working with heritage, charitable, faith‑based, or community organisations.
  • Familiarity with Church of England structures or willingness to develop knowledge quickly.
  • Experience supporting events, engagement activities, or fundraising initiatives.
  • Experience supporting monitoring, reporting, or evaluation activities.
Engagement Terms

This is a freelance engagement. The successful candidate will be engaged as a self‑employed contractor and will be responsible for their own tax and National Insurance arrangements. Attendance at meetings and events in London will be required as part of the brief.
