Overview
Are you an organised, proactive administrator who enjoys working in a busy school environment? We are looking for a friendly and efficient Administration Assistant/PA to join a supportive and welcoming primary school team. Working closely with the Headteacher and another administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school. This is a varied Administration Assistant/PA role requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while providing a professional service to pupils, parents, staff and visitors.
This is a part-time role working 25 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 13:00.
Term-time only – Start September.
Key Duties- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Headteacher and wider school team.
- Maintain accurate pupil records, attendance data and school information systems.
- Support the admissions process and liaise with prospective parents.
- Assist with the production of reports, correspondence, newsletters and statutory returns.
- Process purchase orders, invoices and other routine financial administration.
- Provide administrative support for HR processes, including recruitment, staff records and attendance monitoring.
- Coordinate administrative aspects of school trips, events and communications.
- Support the management of school resources, supplies and stock.
- Assist with premises administration, Health & Safety records and contractor coordination.
- Liaise with IT support and assist with maintaining the school website and publications.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the school office.
- Has previous administrative/PA experience, ideally within a school or education setting.
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is confident using Microsoft Office and school management systems (or able to learn quickly).
- Can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
