Due to a high-volume increase in patient numbers, we are inviting a self-motivated, organised individual who have excellent customer service skills and are passionate about patient care to apply for this position. The role is demanding so you must be confident, assertive and have the ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure. You will have good listening and communication skills and be able to deal with people both internally and externally in a sensitive and professional manner.

The ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to Trust policies is paramount.

Qualifications
  • 5 GCSEs, must include Maths, English and IT.
  • Education:

    A levels, college diploma, or higher education qualification.
  • Evidence of further study (e.g., in-house courses/external courses, such as Admin, IT or Customer Service).
  • Willing to undertake further study and learning to enhance ability to carry out job role more efficiently.
  • Relevant Healthcare experience in an administrative support role (patient or customer focused).
  • Experience working in a reception/phone call handling environment.
  • Relevant NHS experience in an administrative support role.
  • Experience of a hospital admin or outpatient setting.
  • Experience working in a team of people from a wide variety of backgrounds and understanding principles of equality and diversity.
  • Potential leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate others.
  • Can work alone and part of a team.
  • Ability to cope with strict deadlines and fast paced environment.
  • Familiar with basic Microsoft software:
    Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • General strong IT skills.
  • Well developed customer/patient service skills.
  • Knowledge of NHS agenda for Outpatients (e.g., Choose & Book, National Care Records Service, 18-week target).
  • Good understanding of referral to treatment pathways and time scales.

We have a great opportunity for an experienced contact centre agent to join our team in the Central Bookings Service supporting St George's Hospital, currently based in a business centre in Tooting. Our team strives to provide service excellence to all service users whilst delivering a hugely important service to the community.
