Vehicle Technician / Mechanic

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join a busy and professional Accident Repair Centre.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician who enjoys the mechanical side of vehicle repair, with a particular focus on suspension, steering, four-wheel alignment and vehicle electrics.

Responsibilities of a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic

As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of mechanical and electrical repairs to vehicles following accident damage, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
  • Suspension and steering repairs
  • Brakes and associated mechanical components
  • Carrying out 4-wheel alignment and geometry checks
  • Checking and correcting wheel alignment following accident repairs
  • Electrical fault finding and basic diagnostic work
  • Removing and refitting mechanical and electrical components
  • Carrying out safety checks and quality inspections
  • Working alongside Panel Beaters, MET Technicians and other members of the body shop team
  • Ensuring vehicles are repaired to manufacturer and company standards
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
Requirements of a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic

We are looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic with a strong background in mechanical repairs.

You will ideally have:
  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic or Mechanical Technician
  • Strong knowledge of suspension and steering systems
  • Experience carrying out four-wheel alignment / wheel geometry
  • Good electrical and diagnostic knowledge
  • Experience working within an accident repair, body shop, dealership or independent garage environment
  • The ability to diagnose faults accurately and work efficiently
  • A good eye for detail and a commitment to quality
  • Relevant automotive qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 / IMI would be advantageous
  • A full UK driving licence
