This role works across delivery areas and funding streams. It requires adaptability, sound judgement and confidence working with different frameworks and requirements.

If you are evidence-led, organised and comfortable influencing operational teams, this role will suit you well.

You will:

  • Conduct scheduled and responsive audits across services
  • Review files, processes and practice against relevant contract standards
  • Produce clear audit findings and practical action plans

A Day in the Life of a Quality & Compliance Officer

“My day usually begins by reviewing audit schedules and any emerging risks across contracts. I might carry out a file review for one programme in the morning, checking compliance against funding rules and quality standards. Later, I could review delivery against a different contract framework, identifying where practice needs to improve. After completing checks, I meet with managers to explain findings clearly and agree practical next steps.

I focus on what matters most and make sure actions are realistic and time-bound. Throughout the week, I track progress on previous actions, analyse trends using Excel and contribute to governance reporting. The role requires detail, consistency and strong communication. It is about protecting standards while helping teams improve.”
