We are seeking an experienced Principal ESG Consultant to lead and deliver high-impact ESG advisory projects across multiple sectors. You will act as a senior technical authority, driving ESG strategy development, governance integration, and reporting readiness for our clients.

  • Lead and deliver complex ESG advisory engagements across multiple sectors.
  • Act as senior technical authority shaping ESG strategy, governance integration, and reporting readiness.
  • Embed ESG within client investment, risk, and decision‑making processes.
  • Contribute to business development, thought leadership and practice capability building.
  • Lead ESG strategy development, materiality assessments, governance frameworks and implementation programmes.
  • Build ESG KPIs, dashboards, target‑setting methodologies and performance tracking systems.
  • Lead sustainability reporting cycles and align disclosures with CSRD, EU Taxonomy, GRI, IFRS/ISSB and similar frameworks.
  • Manage senior client relationships, ensuring high‑quality delivery, risk management and advisory excellence.
  • Mentor and line‑manage team members; oversee resource allocation and technical quality.
  • Support proposals, bids and account growth opportunities; maintain commercial discipline across engagements.
  • Financial:
    Manage project budgets, margin performance and consultant utilisation.
  • Project Delivery:
    Lead multi‑stream, complex ESG advisory projects to defined objectives.
  • People Responsibility:
    Line‑manage 4–6 team member.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 7+ years’ experience in ESG, sustainability or related advisory fields.
  • Strong technical grounding in ESG strategy, governance, reporting and regulation.
Technical Expertise
  • ESG strategy development, including double/single materiality and roadmap design.
  • ESG governance frameworks, stakeholder engagement processes and operating model design.
  • ESG management systems, KPI frameworks, dashboards and risk integration.
  • Deep experience across ESG reporting (CSRD, EU Taxonomy, GRI, IFRS/ISSB, GRESB) and audit‑ready data processes.
  • Ability to ensure methodological defensibility and high‑integrity disclosures.
Leadership & Management Experience
  • Leading complex ESG engagements and ensuring quality, scope control and risk mitigation.
  • Senior advisory experience with executive and investment‑level stakeholders.
  • Proven capability in mentoring, supervising, and developing ESG consulting teams.
