Assistant Manager

What the role is all about

As an Assistant Manager (AM), you're the second‑in‑command supporting with the day‑to‑day running of your iQ site. You will support the General Manager when required and blend operational oversight with a hands‑on presence; ensuring residents always receive the same high standard of service, no matter what. Your role is key to achieving a 'Full House', which is our way of striving towards fully leased buildings.

What

you'll be doing
  • Deputise during your shift when the General Manager is not on shift
  • Support the General Manager with financial oversight, compliance checks, and performance monitoring – constantly driving improvements in NPS and Google reviews
  • Lead debt recovery efforts, council tax follow‑ups and purchase order management
  • Coordinate inspections, audits, and standards reviews
  • Support leasing activity, including viewings, open days, and competitor analysis to help achieve a 'Full House'
  • Oversee contractor visits and liaise with estates and support teams
  • Ensure reception is always appropriately staffed and that both front and back‑of‑house areas remain professional and welcoming at all times
  • Always look for opportunities to be a moment maker for our residents
  • Build strong relationships with university partners and communicate consistently about resident needs

Working hours

Our residents come first, so rotas are designed around their needs. You'll work opposite shifts to the GM; the rota will be confirmed at least six weeks in advance, and shifts will vary across a six‑week cycle. You'll work with in our operating hours of 8am‑8pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work agreed in advance for busy periods or open days.
