About us

We are champions of rail, inspired to build a greener, more sustainable future of travel. Trainline enables millions of travellers to find and book the best value tickets across carriers, fares, and journey options through our highly rated mobile app, website, and B2B partner channels.

Great journeys start with Trainline

Now Europe's number 1 downloaded rail app, with over 135 million monthly visits and £6.3 billion in annual ticket sales, we collaborate with 270+ rail and coach companies in over 40 countries. We want to create a world where travel is as simple, seamless, eco-friendly and affordable as it should be.

Introducing the Trainline People Team

The People team is at the heart of how Trainline supports and grows its team of over 1,000 Train liners across the business. We're focused on building an environment where people feel informed, connected and set up to do their best work, and this role sits within Employee Experience, a small team driving some of the most visible improvements to how Trainline operates day to day.

This is a fixed term role created to lead two flagship priorities: a full refresh of our internal comms channels and the discovery and launch of a new company intranet. You'll inherit existing insights on both projects and move quickly into delivery, while also providing hands‑on support for business‑as‑usual comms during a busy period. You'll work closely with the existing Employee Experience Partner and Associate, and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across People, Technology and leadership.

In

this role as the Internal Communications Partner, you will…
  • Lead the refresh of our internal comms channel structure, building on existing insights to improve clarity, reduce noise and embed consistent governance
  • Own delivery of a new intranet across two parallel tracks: building an MVP using our current toolset while developing the business case for longer‑term platform investment
  • Establish content architecture, governance and ownership for the intranet from day one, so early work becomes a lasting foundation
  • Evaluate external intranet platforms and use MVP learnings to build an evidence‑based case for future investment
  • Identify opportunities to embed AI across comms and the intranet, from smarter search to AI‑assisted publishing
  • Contribute to company wide internal comms, including inclusion and impact communications alongside our EX Associate and employee networks
  • Support comms plans for key business priorities and change initiatives, including strategy communications
  • Act as a trusted comms advisor to stakeholders delivering change or business‑wide initiatives
We'd love to hear from you if you have…
  • Significant experience in internal communications within a fast‑moving, international business, ideally within tech
  • Practical experience designing, launching or significantly refreshing an intranet, with a solid understanding of information architecture, governance, content ownership and adoption
  • Experience evaluating intranet or digital employee experience platforms and making confident recommendations
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to own end‑to‑end delivery of complex, cross‑functional initiatives
  • A practical, delivery‑focused approach, comfortable moving quickly from strategy to execution in a lean team
  • Experience working closely with senior stakeholders as a trusted advisor
  • Genuine curiosity about AI, with a track record of spotting ways to use it to improve comms processes and content
  • Experience using Slack as part of an internal comms mix is helpful, as is experience refreshing major employee events such as All Hands
