About the role
In this role, you will writea new chapter in creating impact with behavioural science:optimising how humans and AI collaborate so thatwedeliver sustainable improvements in decision quality, productivity and employee and client experience.
From day one, you will own projects and partner with AI product teams, business leads, UX/UI specialists and other experts to solve practical human-AI challenges.
Your work could range from helping a team determine how to build appropriate user trust of AI outputs, to designing behavioural interventions that improve adoption, defining how human and AI performance should be measured, or developing scalable human-AI design guidance for use across L&H.
You will grow your expertise at the intersection of behavioural science, human-AI interaction, UX/UI, change management and AI transformation, while benefiting from close collaboration with multidisciplinary experts across Swiss Re.
Human-AI consulting, workflow design & adoption:Own end-to-end behavioural science and human-AI consulting projects, partnering with AI product teams and business owners across reimagination, MVPdevelopmentand scaling. Structure ambiguous business questions, diagnose behavioural and organisational challenges, and apply behavioural science and human-centred design to shape effective human-AI workflows and drive sustained adoption and intelligent AI use. Design interventions, helping users develop appropriate trustand understand when to rely on, challenge or verify AI outputs.
Human-AI research, experimentation & success measurement:Translate behavioural science and human-AI research into practical recommendations and conduct primary research where needed. Develop and test measures of overall humanandAI performance, including decision quality,appropriate reliance, productivity, userexperienceand business value, using qualitative and quantitative methods.
Scalable practices & dissemination of expertise:Translate project learnings into reusable human-AI principles, frameworks, tools and guidelines for L&H and the wider Swiss Re Group. Act as a subject-matter expert,facilitate multidisciplinary stakeholder engagement, contribute to internal publications,presentationsandprioritisedexternalclient engagements.

The Behavioural Research Unit (BRU) sits within the Life and Health (L&H) Reinsurance Chief Underwriting Office (CUO) – the heart of innovation and decision-making in Life and Health. The BRU works on a range of topics, including leveraging behavioural science to improve underwriting and claims outcomes, expert judgement and decision-making, and increasingly how people and AI work together.
We are looking for a well-rounded consultant with experience in behavioural science and/orhuman-AI collaboration designto join the BRU.You willhelp to translate research insights into practical and impactfulsolutions that improve howAIisdesigned,introduced and used across L&H.
You will join a close-knit, international team working at the intersection of behavioural and decision-science, AI transformation, and key functions like client management, underwriting and claims.

You are a well-rounded, intellectually curious professional who bridges the worlds of research and practice with ease. You bring a strong grounding in behavioural science and/or human-AI collaboration design, and you are energised by the challenge of translating complex evidence into solutions that delivery business impact. You are comfortable with ambiguity, confident working independently, and at your best when collaborating across disciplines and cultures.
