Senior Environmental Consultant
Type of employment: 12-Month FTC
Location:
Central London
Salary: £75,000-£90,000 + additional benefits
Working Pattern:
Hybrid (2 days in office)
I am currently supporting a Global Impact Infrastructure Investor operating within the sustainable infrastructure sector as they look to appoint aSenior Environmental Consultant on a12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
This role will provide a strong opportunity for someone with a strong background in Environmental & Social Due Diligencewho enjoys influencing investment decisions and working on complex international infrastructure projects across Asia and Africa.
The Role- Lead Environmental, Health, Safety & Social (HSES) due diligence on new investments.
- Review environmental and social risks, identifying issues early in the project lifecycle.
- Develop HSES recommendations, action plans and management documentation.
- Support HSES assurance, compliance and implementation across a diverse project portfolio.
- Provide technical expertise on environmental, social and human rights risks, including modern slavery, child labour and safeguarding.
- Support HSES audits, reporting, continuous improvement and the delivery of the organisation's long-term sustainability strategy.
- Deliver HSES guidance and training to internal teams and project stakeholders.
- Experience delivering Environmental & Social Due Diligence within infrastructure, ESG, impact investment or consultancy.
- Strong report writing and risk assessment skills.
- Experience reviewing Environmental & Social Management Systems (ESMS).
- The ability to work independently and confidently influence investment decisions.
- Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles or Human Rights frameworks is advantageous.
- £75,000-£90,000
