Position: Packaging and Labeling Manager (Artwork)
Location: City of Westminster

Job Description Vertex Pharmaceuticals is currently looking for an Packaging and Labeling Manager. We currently have seven commercial products and a robust pipeline of new products in various stages of clinical development. With this exciting growth, Vertex is seeking an Packaging and Labeling Manager to manage artwork development through implementation at the packaging site. This position will manage Vertex’s internal artwork change controls to meet manufacturing deadlines, interacting with internal and external stakeholders across the globe.

The candidate will be a leader, with broad awareness of best global practices within pharmaceutical artwork development. Strong professionalism and communication skills are critical.

Managing all artwork development activities (brief approval, artwork preparation, and proofreading, etc.) for new products and updates to current product artwork with minimal supervision, this role will compile requirements from internal stakeholders and manage day to day activities of external graphics providers and printers to meet stakeholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Control artwork changes from initiation through implementation through formalized systems and processes including artwork change controls and artwork management system approvals

Create and update artwork Bill of Materials for internal quality disposition of commercial products

Coordinate with Regulatory Labeling, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Science & Technology, QA, etc. to ensure commercial artwork is created per stakeholder requirements

Manage artwork change controls from the point of stakeholder assessments to implementation at the site Ensure that change control processes are followed in order to maintain accuracy of changes during versioning of documents

Partner with external graphics agencies to ensure Vertex artwork is developed on time with best in class quality

Support the creation and review of SOPs and training materials

Support training global internal and external users in the artwork process and management system

Artwork Management System administrative support

Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects concurrently

Takes full responsibility within scope of the position to work with various stakeholders (such as Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Science & Technology, Regulatory, Graphics agency, etc.) to proactively and collaboratively resolve issues that may negatively impact project timelines or deliverables

Key Requirements:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.

Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry in a similar role , including relevant artwork, regulatory, technical writing, or copy editing experience

Ability to complete goals within allotted time frames and deliver high quality results

Strong initiative and ability to identify issues and develop solutions

Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word)
Strong interpersonal and relationship skills

Experience with an Artwork Management System Product launch experience

Demonstrated attention to detail.
