Our privately owned client is a leading name within the enabling works sector, who pride themselves on their excellent reputation to deliver projects within budget and to programme, whilst always maintaining high standards and quality. They are a professional, technically minded and modern outfit who have proven success of operating primarily as principle contractor on their projects throughout the City. Much of their work is secured due to repeat business and package values generally range from £2M up to £15M.
As a multifaceted contractor, their core areas of expertise include demolition and dismantling, temporary works, façade retention, structural alterations and substructure packages and current turnover stands in excess of £65M.
Due to healthy order books and company expansion, there is a need for a Quantity Surveyor to oversee the successful commercial and financial management of a portfolio of projects (2-4 projects simultaneously) from the point of award through to final account.
Key responsibilities- Track the financial performance of projects against tender budgets and provide CVR's and forecasts to the Directors on a monthly basis.
- Procure sub-contractors, plant and material expenditure where possible.
- Support the pre-contracts team at tender stage on projects, cost planning and negotiating terms of contract.
- Deal directly with clients and their team regarding valuation of on-going accounts in terms of both measured works and any valuations which may occur.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Contracts Directors to ensure the commercial success of day-to-day contracting activities within the region.
- Be the direct report to members within the commercial team.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar.
- Proven experience working at this level, employed by a demolition or general enabling works contractor in the South East.
- Demonstrated longevity in previous appointments, holding each for a minimum of 2 years.
- Exposure to JCT forms of contract.
- Experience working within soft strip/demolition is preferred; structural knowledge will also be considered.
For this permanent opportunity, the client offers a salary range of £60,000 – £75,000, with flexibility based on experience and suitability. Additional benefits include travel expenses covered, pension, health care, laptop, phone and discretionary bonuses.
