Location: City Of London

Our client is looking for an experienced Health & Safety Consultant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a competent, construction-focused professional who wants to work with a forward-thinking consultancy delivering practical, commercially aware health and safety support across a diverse client base.

This is a self‑employed part‑time role for 2‑3 days per week, paying up to £350 per day plus a travel contribution. You will be travelling to client sites across South East England (London / Home Counties / South Coast).

About the role

As a Health & Safety Consultant, you will support clients across London, the Home Counties and the South Coast, delivering hands‑on safety leadership and compliance support. This role requires a commitment of two or three days per week on a self‑employed basis.

Key responsibilities
  • Carrying out site safety inspections and audits
  • Attending and contributing to safety meetings
  • Developing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Preparing Construction Phase Plans
  • Conducting accident and incident investigations
  • Providing clear, practical health and safety advice to clients
  • Supporting clients with ongoing compliance and best practice
Essential experience
  • Proven experience within the construction sector
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the region
