What you’ll be doingThis is a high impact role where you’ll take ownership of build cost planning across the full lifecycle of a project – from early feasibility through to final budget sign-off.
You’ll combine strong technical expertise with commercial insight, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure our developments are delivered efficiently, competitively and to the highest standards.
- Preparing and managing build cost estimates from concept through to budget approval
- Developing and maintaining detailed cost plans and development budgets
- Producing Bills of Quantities and undertaking material take-offs from technical drawings
- Working collaboratively with design, procurement and delivery teams to optimise cost and buildability
- Managing and reviewing input from external cost consultants
- Building and maintaining a robust cost database (materials, labour, plant, supply chain)
- Supporting land appraisals and feasibility studies
- Monitoring market trends to inform cost strategy and decision-making
- Leading and supporting junior team members, including mentoring and development
- Contributing to project meetings and supporting commercial decision-making
- Pricing variations and customer extras in collaboration with Sales and Construction teams
- Proven experience in estimating within high-rise residential or mixed-use developments
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, measurement and cost planning
- Experience producing detailed build cost plans and budgets
- Confident working cross-functionally with technical, commercial and delivery teams
- Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
- Proficient in cost management and estimating software
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Professional membership (e.g. MRICS, MCIOB, CIPS)

The standard full-time working hours in the office are 8am-5pm with core working hours 9am-4pm.
