Assistant Estimator - Main Contractor (Central London)

A leading main contractor based in Central London is seeking a talented and motivated Assistant Estimator to join their dynamic team. The company specialises in delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, including Automotive, Commercial, Education, Healthcare, and Residential. With a diverse portfolio of projects valued up to £10 million, the ideal candidate will play an integral role in supporting the estimation process for projects of varying complexity and scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and detailed cost estimates for projects across various sectors.
  • Support the Estimating team with tender submissions and bid proposals.
  • Prepare and analyse project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to gather pricing information.
  • Assist in the review and analysis of project specifications and drawings.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of data.
  • Assist with project risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and report on project costs and progress during the pre-construction phase.
Requirements
  • A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in estimating or a construction-related role, ideally within the sectors mentioned.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
