Mechanical Construction Manager – London – Healthcare Project
At Dornan we are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Construction Manager to join a major Healthcare Project in London. This is an opportunity to play a key role on a high‑profile site, leading Mechanical delivery and helping drive project excellence from start to completion.

Responsibilities- Work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate and deliver mechanical works to the highest standards.
- Help plan and sequence activities, support supervision of site teams, and ensure all works meet programme requirements, technical specifications, and Dornan’s safety standards.
- Plan, oversee labour and materials, monitor progress, maintain quality and compliance, and ensure safe, efficient site operations.
- Involved in short‑term look‑ahead and cost awareness, supporting commissioning, handover, and collaboration with subcontractors, suppliers, and client teams.
- Maintain site discipline, support apprentices, ensure equipment and materials are effectively managed, and elevate any issues that impact productivity or scope.
Your Experience
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager on Healthcare projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and public health building services systems – including HVAC, chilled water, heating, ventilation, domestic water, drainage, and life safety systems – and the capability to manage subcontractors, workforce planning, and programme delivery in a fast‑moving environment.
- Ownership, clear communication, effective leadership, and commitment to continuous professional development.
- A relevant Mechanical trade background or a third‑level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
- SMSTS or equivalent safety‑management certification.
- Appropriate and current health and safety training (e.g., Safe Pass / CSCS / equivalent).
