Job Description & How to Apply Below
Senior Quantity Surveyor required for a £75m+ major refurbishment and regeneration project in West London. Join a growing specialist contractor and take ownership of a complex, high-profile project with genuine long-term career opportunities.
The Role
A well-established, privately owned specialist contractor is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major, multi-year residential refurbishment and fire safety project in West London. The project involves the major refurbishment and upgrade of hundreds of residential homes across multiple blocks, with works being delivered while residents remain in situ.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the commercial performance of a £75m+ major refurbishment and regeneration project in West London.
Controlling costs, forecasting expenditure and producing accurate CVRs and commercial reports.
Managing subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, change control and final accounts.
Identifying and managing commercial risk across complex refurbishment, fire safety and construction packages.
Collaborating closely with the operational team, client and key stakeholders to deliver the project successfully.
Project Scope
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will gain exposure to a broad and highly complex scope of works, including:
External wall insulation, brick slips and render
Full window replacement programmes
Internal refurbishment works
Structural alterations and walkway extensions
New balustrades and steel staircases
Rear extensions and new build elements
Atrium modifications
Major energy efficiency upgrades
Extensive fire safety and compliance works
Skills & Experience
Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in major construction, refurbishment, regeneration or social housing projects.
Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, with proven experience managing significant project values and commercial risk.
Experienced in subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, change control, forecasting, CVRs and final accounts.
Confident stakeholder manager able to work effectively with clients, subcontractors and senior internal teams.
Commercially and operationally collaborative, with the ability to work closely with project delivery teams on complex schemes.
Experience working on larger-scale projects is preferred, with candidates from major contractors and Tier 1 backgrounds particularly encouraged to apply. However, the business is more interested in your capability and the projects you have successfully delivered than simply the name on your CV.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor in West London to join a stable, privately owned contractor during a period of significant growth, with long-term project security and genuine opportunity to progress as the business continues to expand.
If you are an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for a genuinely complex project that will add real weight to your CV, please contact James Maloney at Skilled Careers for a confidential discussion
