You will be working in the Building team where Skanska is delivering 55 Old Broad Street, a major workplace destination that will provide around 270,000 sq. ft of high-quality, future-ready office space across 23-storeys in Liverpool Street, central London. Our UK teams will also deliver the full mechanical, electrical and public health systems installation, Cat A fit-out as well as public realm improvements, and the sensitive refurbishment of the historic Grade II-listed Bishopsgate Victorian Bath House.
We are currently looking for a Project Surveyor who willjoin the commercial team on a prestigious £280 million commercial development project. The role involves supporting package procurement and cost control, ensuring the financial performance of work packages is accurately reported and effectively managed, and helping to identify, mitigate and resolve commercial issues. The Project Surveyor will also oversee subcontract obligations and carry out all duties in line with company policies, IMS procedures, and key governance guidelines.
Asthe Project Surveyor, you will:
- Manage project costs effectively and provide regular, accurate financial reporting.
- Interpret contractual requirements across project documentation, clearly understanding the roles, responsibilities and change notification requirements of all parties, and ensure all notices are issued on time.
- Monitor forecast cost to completion and implement effective cost management systems and controls.
- Support the operations team in identifying, assessing and managing both existing and emerging risks and opportunities.
- Prepare subcontract documentation, issue enquiries and negotiate subcontract agreements, including interim valuations and final accounts.
- Apply and comply with company procedures relating to commercial site processes, systems, cost control, contract variations and methods of measurement.
- Proven experience working on medium to large-scale construction projects.
- A strong track record of managing multiple subcontract packages, typically valued between £1 million and £10 million.
- Previous experience on London commercial office projects, with involvement across construction stages and a history of delivering projects successfully, on time and within budget.
- A good working knowledge of JCT forms of construction contract.
- A BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying, or an equivalent construction-related qualification.
- Preferably professionally qualified, or working towards ICES or RICS accreditation.
- A self-motivated and confident approach, with strong commercial awareness and effective communication skills.
