The Company

We are partnering with one of the UK's most respected main contractors, a business with a strong national presence. Over the past 25 years, they have built deep, long-standing client relationships, resulting in a substantial secured order book and a healthy pipeline of projects nationwide.

This opportunity sits within a well-established business unit delivering refurbishment, remediation, retrofit, and building safety projects across London and the South. Their client base includes local authorities and housing associations, with schemes spanning residential, student accommodation, and wider regeneration programmes.

You'll be joining a business led by a highly experienced senior leadership team with a proven track record of delivering complex, high-quality projects. The culture is collaborative, stable, and built around long-term frameworks rather than one-off wins.

The Role
- Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Hybrid

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial delivery of a portfolio of projects across London and the South, with a primary focus on fire remediation, retrofit, planned maintenance, and refurbishment schemes delivered on behalf of Housing Associations and Local Authority clients.

Working within a well-established business unit, you will be involved in the commercial management of projects ranging from building safety and cladding remediation works through to decarbonisation, internal and external refurbishment, and planned maintenance programmes. These projects are delivered through long-term frameworks and repeat client relationships, offering both stability and a consistent pipeline of work.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for all commercial aspects of your projects, ensuring they are delivered profitably while maintaining excellent client and stakeholder relationships.

  • Producing accurate cost forecasts, CVRs, budgets, and monthly financial reports.
  • Procuring and managing subcontractor packages, including valuations, payments, and final accounts.
  • Administering change control procedures and managing variations effectively.
  • Ensuring contractual compliance and managing risk across multiple projects.
  • Supporting operational teams to maximise project performance and profitability.
  • Building strong working relationships with Housing Association and Local Authority clients.
  • Identifying commercial opportunities and implementing best practice cost management.
  • Contributing to monthly commercial reviews and supporting the wider commercial team.
About You
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
  • Strong background delivering social housing, planned maintenance, refurbishment, retrofit, building safety, or fire remediation projects.
  • Experience working with Housing Associations and Local Authority clients would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and commercial management processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work autonomously.
  • Relevant construction-related qualification (Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent).
What  on Offer
  • Join a £700m+ turnover contractor with a substantial secured order book and long-term pipeline of work.
  • Opportunity to work on meaningful building safety, fire remediation, and regeneration schemes that positively impact local communities.
  • Stable workflow through long-term frameworks with Housing Associations and Local Authorities.
  • Supportive senior leadership team and collaborative culture.
  • Excellent career progression opportunities within a growing and successful business unit.
