Quantity Surveyor

£45,000 - £55,000

Skilled Careers are working with Sub Contractor who work with leading Tier One Main Contractors within London and due an excellent pipeline of work they are now on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced or ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction business delivering major commercial, infrastructure and heritage projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the successful delivery of projects while developing your commercial and professional skills, with hybrid working and strong study and training support available.

Job Description

Preparing cost estimates, project budgets and tender documentation as a Quantity Surveyor supporting construction projects across London.

Monitoring project costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities and maintaining strong commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Managing interim valuations, final accounts, variations and change orders to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost management.

Leading procurement activities, including subcontractor quotations, contracts and payments, while attending site visits and project meetings.

Building strong relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders as a Quantity Surveyor, working both independently and collaboratively across project teams.

Skills / Qualifications

Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline, with previous construction industry experience essential for the Quantity Surveyor role.

Experienced in Quantity Surveying with strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills and a high level of accuracy.

Knowledgeable in standard forms of construction contract, with JCT or NEC experience advantageous for a Quantity Surveyor.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly intermediate-level Excel; working knowledge of Bluebeam would also be beneficial.

Proactive and motivated with a willingness to learn and develop as a Quantity Surveyor, with the right to work in the UK and no requirement for visa sponsorship.
