Position: Estimator Required

Estimator Required In Central London

GVR Solutions are currently looking for an Estimator to join one of our well-established building restoration and conservation contractors based in central London. They are seeking an Estimator to join their team to work on some of London’s most historical landmarks.

The Estimator Must Have/be
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on restoration or conservation projects
  • Have a practical and logical mind and a methodical way of thinking.
  • Show a creative and innovative approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to write clear and precise reports and relay complex information in a simple and direct way to a diverse range of people.
  • Have a detailed knowledge of past and current building technology, processes, materials, business and legal matters.
  • A team player.
  • Participate in continuous self-development.
Key Responsibilities Of The Estimator
  • Preparing detailed cost estimates
  • Carrying out quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and client documents.
  • Preparing and issuing subcontractor enquiries and analysing returned quotations.
  • Building up cost plans and pricing schedules for tenders.
  • Working closely with the commercial and pre-construction teams to develop winning bids.
  • Reviewing project specifications and identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
  • Ensuring all estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with market rates.
  • Attending pre-tender, mid-tender, and post-tender meetings where required.
  • Supporting tender submissions and preparing commercial documentation.
  • Maintaining and updating cost databases and historical pricing information.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing information.
  • Assisting in handover of successful tenders to the delivery team.
