A busy London Borough Council is seeking an experienced Street Works Inspector (NRSWA) to join their Network Management team on a contract basis. This role will involve carrying out both highways safety and NRSWA inspections across a busy and diverse urban network. Reporting to the Network Manager, you will work collaboratively with a dedicated team of Inspectors and Coordinators to ensure all works undertaken on the public highway are compliant, safe, and in line with statutory requirements.

The Council manages a complex and heavily trafficked urban highway network. Previous experience delivering NRSWA inspections within a London or similarly busy metropolitan environment is essential.

• Undertaking systematic and ad-hoc inspections of street works and highway works
• Inspecting works in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) and the Highways Act 1980
• Investigating highway licences, permits, and potential infringements
• Proactively identifying and reporting non-compliant works
• Supporting the Council's duty to ensure safety and minimise disruption across the network

• Accredited NRSWA Inspector
• Proven experience inspecting works on busy urban highway networks
• Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
