Salary – Circa £60,000 - Salary is dependent on experience and will be assessed in line with the
candidate's skills, knowledge, and relevant expertise.
As the Women's Health's Editor will run the print arm of the brand, from managing day-to-day copy flow in a way that ensures every issue is produced to the highest standard to implementing a content strategy that retains our position as the leading title in the market and producing additional print products such as bookazines and supplements.
Main Duties- Run the print arm of the brand, producing 10 issues of the magazine, two bookazines and four supplements annually.
- Oversee the entire editorial process: leading a features conference with the brand team, producing a flatplan, signing off briefs for writers, editing copy, signing off layouts, reading proofs in a way that ensures all copy is accurate, legally sound and produced to the highest possible standard, working closely with the EIC to produce the cover and ensuring the delivery of every print product in line with deadlines and the press schedule.
- Work closely with the Multiplatform Director (MD) to optimise workflow, allowing writers and editors to contribute to all the brand's platforms while achieving their extensive KPIs.
- Assist the EIC and MD in creating and realising the brand's content strategy.
- Assist the EIC with a cover strategy, including managing relationships with talent agents and booking talent.
- With the EIC running two brands, you will act as a leader for the WH team, running the Monday morning conference, supporting the team to meet their KPIs and line managing the Features Director, Fashion Editor, Beauty Editor and Nutrition Editor.
- Build and maintain a strong working relationship with WH US, exploring opportunities for collaboration and content sharing.
- Work with Hearst's Partnerships Lead to ensure a high performance across platforms such as Apple News and Readly, including refining headlines and amplifying key content.
- Deputise for the EIC in her absence, including managing cover shoots and signing off commercial briefs.
- Assist the EIC in liaising with Hearst's commercial teams to realise potential revenue streams and partnerships.
- Approve and process invoices ensuring print remains within budget.
- Assist in the communication of the brands' vision to internal and external PRs, agents and clients.
- Promote the brand, when necessary, through media and public appearances.
- Act as an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values.
