Retail Associate/ Customer Service, Customer Service Rep
As a Sales Assistant at a Ryman Post Office, you’ll be at the heart of the store, helping customers with their everyday Post Office and retail needs while creating a friendly, efficient and welcoming experience
WORKING 16 HOURS.
You’ll be someone customers can rely on – whether they’re popping in to send a parcel, picking up travel money or simply need some help. You’ll combine excellent customer service with strong product knowledge and a confident approach to sales, making sure every customer leaves feeling looked after.
What you’ll be doingWelcome and serve customers enthusiastically, taking the time to understand what they need and finding the right solution.
Provide knowledgeable, friendly and efficient service across both Ryman and Post Office services.
Operate the till confidently and accurately, processing different payment methods while following all customer care, security and compliance procedures.
Build your knowledge of our products and services, keeping your skills up to date so you can give customers the best possible advice.
Spot opportunities to recommend relevant products and services that genuinely add value for the customer.
Approach customers confidently and politely, creating positive conversations and building strong customer relationships.
Handle customer queries, difficulties and complaints professionally, always looking for a positive solution.
Work as part of a supportive team, helping the store run smoothly during busy periods.
Follow company Health & Safety, security and operational procedures consistently.
Play your part in delivering strong sales and commercial results while keeping the customer at the centre of everything you do.
Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing environment.
Enthusiasm for both the Ryman and Post Office brands.
A natural ability to build relationships and become a trusted ambassador for both brands.
Experience working in a busy, multi-tasking environment where priorities can change quickly.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A confident and polite approach to speaking with customers and recommending products.
Strong customer service and sales skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver results.
The confidence to deal calmly and professionally with customer queries, difficulties and complaints.
A strong focus on accuracy, security and compliance.
A positive, reliable and flexible attitude.
A genuine team-player mentality – you’ll be someone your colleagues can count on.
