Architect - Aviation

Are you an experienced Architect, available for a 6 month contract and looking to contribute to major aviation infrastructure projects at some of the UK's busiest airports?

Do you have proven experience delivering aviation projects through RIBA Stage 4 with strong technical detailing and specification expertise?

Are you confident using Autodesk Revit and comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on complex airport environments?

An established engineering and design consultancy is seeking an experienced Architect with aviation project experience to support a portfolio of airport infrastructure schemes. This contract role offers the chance to work on a variety of high-profile projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams and key aviation stakeholders.

We would also welcome applications from these industries:
Rail infrastructure, major transport infrastructure, defence and security estates, complex public sector buildings, and large-scale commercial or mixed‑use developments.

This role would suit candidates working in these roles:
Project Architect, Aviation Architect, Senior Architect, Technical Architect, Architectural Design Lead, Design Architect, Infrastructure Architect, Transport Architect, Chartered Architect, or Lead Architect.

• Produce architectural designs, drawings and technical documentation that comply with current regulations, project standards and client requirements.
• Prepare surveys, design reports and construction‑stage information to support project delivery while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate architectural activities across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects meet programme, cost and quality expectations.
• Review technical designs, calculations and contractor submissions to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
• Engage with project stakeholders, including clients and end users, to clarify design intent, feasibility considerations and project constraints.

• Chartered Architect status with RIBA and ARB registration.
• Demonstrable experience delivering aviation sector projects, particularly through RIBA Stage 4, ideally with familiarity of major UK airport standards.
• Strong capability in architectural design development, detailing and technical specification writing.
• Proficiency using Autodesk Revit for 3D modelling, with working knowledge of AutoCAD for 2D design production.
• Understanding of UK regulations and industry standards including British Standards, Eurocodes and CDM requirements, with the ability to contribute to bids, tenders and project planning.
