Are you a Landscape Architect with a passion for creating sustainable places and shaping developments through thoughtful landscape planning and design? We're looking for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with creative thinking to deliver high‑quality landscape solutions across a diverse range of projects.
Joining our multidisciplinary team, you'll work on residential, infrastructure, regeneration and public sector developments, supporting projects from initial site appraisal through to planning submission and detailed landscape design. About the RoleAs a Landscape Architect, you'll play an important role in delivering landscape planning and design services across all stages of a project. You'll undertake landscape and visual assessments, contribute to the preparation of planning submissions and develop creative landscape design solutions that respond sensitively to their surroundings.
Working collaboratively with planners, ecologists, urban designers and engineers, you'll help ensure landscape considerations are embedded throughout the design process.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA) and Landscape and Visual Appraisals (LVA) in accordance with GLVIA
3. - Undertaking landscape character assessments, site appraisals and landscape sensitivity studies.
- Conducting desktop research and site surveys, including viewpoint photography and field assessments.
- Producing high‑quality technical reports to support planning applications and Environmental Impact Assessments.
- Preparing landscape masterplans, public realm proposals and planting strategies.
- Producing supporting drawings, photomontages, visualisations and mapping using industry‑standard software.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated design solutions.
- Supporting project delivery to agreed programmes and budgets.
- Building positive working relationships with clients, consultants and planning authorities.
You'll help shape developments that balance environmental, social and commercial considerations while protecting and enhancing the character of the landscape.
Through your technical expertise and design skills, you'll contribute to planning outcomes by delivering clear, evidence‑based landscape assessments and creative landscape solutions. Your work will help clients navigate the planning process, minimise landscape and visual impacts and create places that are sustainable, attractive and resilient for future generations.
As part of a collaborative team, you'll also contribute to knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and the development of innovative approaches to landscape planning and design.
About YouYou'll be a motivated Landscape Architect who enjoys both technical assessment and creative design, with a genuine interest in delivering high‑quality work that supports sustainable development.
You'll have:
- A degree and/or Master's in Landscape Architecture.
- Experience preparing Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA) and Landscape and Visual Appraisals (LVA).
- A good understanding of GLVIA3 methodology and Landscape Institute guidance.
- Experience undertaking landscape character assessments and site surveys.
- Knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy.
- Experience producing landscape masterplans and planting designs.
- Strong report writing and technical communication skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and GIS software.
- Experience producing visualisations, photomontages and presentation material.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A collaborative approach and strong communication skills.
- Progress towards Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute (or an ambition to achieve Chartership).
