Location: City of London
Core Responsibilities
1. Workplace Strategy & Concept Design
- Lead client briefings to extract detailed workplace requirements and space utilization data.
- Develop strategic space plans, zoning diagrams, and creative workplace concepts.
- Curate material palettes, mood boards, and bespoke joinery details.
2. Pitching & Client Management
- Create compelling pitch presentations that align with the client's brand, budget, and timeline.
- Confidently present design schemes directly to C-suite clients and stakeholders.
- Act as the primary design guardian, managing client expectations and revisions throughout the project.
3. Technical Design & Compliance
- Produce comprehensive drawing packages including detailed floor plans, RCPs, elevations, and finishes schedules.
- Ensure all designs strictly comply with local building regulations, planning laws, and accessibility standards.
- Coordinate seamlessly with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) engineers and structural consultants.
4. Commercial & Project Delivery
- Work alongside estimators and estimators to value-engineer designs without compromising the creative vision.
- Support the pre-construction team by reviewing site conditions and clarifying technical design details.
- Attend site meetings during construction to resolve design queries and ensure high-quality execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Proficiencies
- Software: Mastery of AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Enscape/Vray, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial furniture (FF&E), workplace ergonomics, and sustainable design standards (e.g., SKA, BREEAM, WELL).
Experience & Education
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.
- Track Record: 5+ years of experience in commercial interior design, with a proven portfolio of completed D&B workplace projects.
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership skills to mentor junior and mid-weight designers.
- Exceptional communication skills for high-stakes client pitches.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight D&B fast-track deadlines.
