As we continue an exciting period of growth, we’re looking for an exceptional Knitwear & Jersey Designer to join our talented Design team.
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of one of our most important product categories. Working closely with our Founder and Head of Design, you’ll shape the creative direction of knitwear and jersey, developing collections that balance timeless style with modern relevance, exceptional quality and commercial success.
We’re looking for a passionate, product-led designer who understands premium womenswear, has impeccable taste and thrives on creating pieces that women will treasure and wear for years to come.
The Role
You’ll lead the design and development of the Knitwear & Jersey categories from initial concept through to production, ensuring every product reflects the effortless femininity, colour, quality and attention to detail that define the WYSE London brand.
Working collaboratively across Design, Buying, Merchandising and Technical teams, you’ll combine creativity with commercial awareness to build balanced collections that feel fresh, desirable and cohesive season after season.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the design and development of the Knitwear & Jersey categories from concept through to production.
- Work closely with the Founder and Head of Design to shape the creative vision and seasonal direction for the category.
- Research trends, colour, yarns, fabrics, stitches, silhouettes and lifestyle influences to develop commercially relevant collections with a premium aesthetic.
- Contribute to seasonal story & mood boards, colour palettes and collection concepts alongside the wider Design team.
- Design beautifully crafted knitwear and jersey pieces that embody the effortless femininity and timeless appeal of the WYSE London brand.
- Deliver innovation and newness while maintaining a clear and consistent brand handwriting.
- Build coordinated collections that work seamlessly with all product categories to create complete, head-to-toe looks.
- Develop products with exceptional attention to fit, proportion, construction, quality and finishing.
- Work autonomously with suppliers to develop yarns, jersey fabrics, stitches, blocks, prototypes and gold seal samples.
- Source premium yarns, fabrics and trims independently where appropriate.
- Constantly re-review ranges to ensure that you are reacting to customer feedback/lessons learnt and micro and macro trends
- Able to trade in season and respond to sales, identify opportunities for new options/styles based on successes as well as minimising risks.
- Lead technical fit sessions alongside the Garment Technologist, driving continuous improvements in fit and construction.
- Produce detailed CADs, technical packs and specification sheets for every style.
- Collaborate closely with Buying and Merchandising to ensure the collection delivers the right balance of choice, newness and commercial opportunity.
- Analyse sales performance, customer feedback and seasonal best sellers to inform future product development.
- Manage the progression of your collection throughout the critical path, ensuring timely delivery for each seasonal launch.
- Champion responsible sourcing and sustainable product development, designing products with longevity, durability and quality at their core.
About You
You’ll be an experienced premium womenswear designer with a genuine passion for product, craftsmanship and creating beautiful clothes.
You’ll enjoy taking ownership, working collaboratively and balancing creativity with commercial thinking.
