The Snapshot

  • In-house design team for a globally recognised luxury brand, shaping stores from flagships down to smaller formats
  • A balance of concept and creative work alongside rollout
  • Strong creative point of view: they want someone who'll make suggestions, not just execute
  • Vectorworks essential, plus solid 3D modelling and rendering
  • Ideally looking to start at the end of September

The Studio

We're working with a globally recognised luxury brand, and this role sits in their in-house design team. They are the team responsible for how their stores look, feel, and work across every region and format. Think facades, layouts, furniture, fixtures, finishes, and the experiential moments in between. It's a in-house team that moves quickly and expects people to make decisions, so if you like ambiguity, want autonomy, and have opinions you're happy to share, you'll fit right in.

What makes this one nicely balanced is the split between the creative and the practical. You'll be generating concepts and pushing ideas for flagships and high-profile projects, but you'll also be seeing them through into detailed packages and regional rollout, so nothing stays on the mood board for long.

Day to Day, You'll Be...

  • Leading flagship and high-complexity store design projects, from concept creation and spatial strategy through to experiential detail
  • Developing and presenting strong creative ideas through sketches, renders, and 3D models, to senior leadership as well as the wider team
  • Producing full detailed design packs: facades, layouts, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and site-specific construction details that are accurate, buildable, and on brand
  • Creating mood boards, material palettes, and technical documentation for internal teams and external partners
  • Managing external studios and specialist consultants, reviewing their detail design packs, construction drawings, and technical deliverables
  • Sourcing and integrating new materials and techniques that push things creatively while still being practical and long-lasting
  • Keeping an eye on design trends, customer behaviour, and what competitors are doing, and turning that into commercially relevant ideas
  • Mentoring junior designers and contributing to a high-performing, feedback-driven studio culture
  • Juggling multiple projects at once and making clear, confident calls to keep them moving

What You'll Bring

  • A degree in Architecture or Interior Design, and at least 7 years' experience in luxury retail design
  • Hands-on architectural design experience within luxury retail, and a deep understanding of what luxury customers expect from a store
  • A strong creative point of view and the confidence to bring suggestions to the table
  • Technical proficiency in Vectorworks, along with 3D modelling and rendering software
  • Excellent visual storytelling and presentation skills, and the ability to influence and negotiate with cross-functional partners
  • A good read on current market trends and competitor approaches
  • The organisation to run several projects at once, and the flexibility to adapt when priorities shift
  • Comfort working independently with minimal oversight, and a collaborative streak when it's time to bring people with you
  • Fluency in English

Why This One Stands Out

In-house luxury retail roles with this much creative input are hard to find. Plenty of brand-side studios are rollout machines, but this one wants a designer who'll shape the concept as well as deliver it, with a global portfolio to play with and a salary and benefits package to match. If you've done your time in luxury retail and want your ideas to actually end up on the high street, this is a cracking fit.
