Overview
We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Haematology on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Haematology department.

- Provide a weekly general haematology new patient clinic
- Provide a weekly follow-up clinic for patients with myeloproliferative disorders
- Provide a weekly Thrombosis clinic
- Attend the weekly thrombosis MDT and weekly malignant MDT
- Be supported by a specialist registrar and a haematology nurse specialist, each with their own area of special interest
- Commitment to attending ward patients
- Operate on a 2 week block rolling rota shared with other consultants (1:6)
- Full ward rounds twice a week when allocated to ward cover
- Daily reviews for new admissions and unstable patients
- During weeks off ward cover, have dedicated full ward-round time allocated as SPA time
- Attend and participate in the weekly morphology meeting and core medical trainee and specialist haematology trainee teaching programme
- Act as a clinical supervisor for junior doctors
- Opportunity to be an educational supervisor if you wish
- Active local interest in maintaining diagnostics expertise through in-house reporting of bone marrows and weekly morphology review meeting
- Opportunity to participate in the diagnostic service if desired (not mandatory)
Our client are based in a beautiful suburb borough on the outskirts of London with close proximity to big international airports, along with access to highly reputable public and private schools within the area.
