Locum consultant

Role Overview

We are looking for a locum consultant with a special interest in Skin Cancer and Mohs Surgery to join our Dermatology department at The Royal London Hospital site, part of Barts Health NHS Trust. The initial term is 12 months and will include participation in the Skin Cancer MDT, surveillance clinics, Mohs surgery, outpatient general dermatology clinics, surgical procedures and tele‑dermatology.

Time is allocated for CPD and SPA for appraisal, revalidation and service development. The role may also involve ward‑round rota and a non‑resident on‑call commitment (low frequency). The Dermatology Department is a well‑established regional centre of excellence in North East London.

• Deliver specialist clinical care in skin cancer and Mohs micro‑graphic surgery.
• Participate in the Skin Cancer MDT and surveillance clinics.
• Manage outpatient general dermatology clinics, surgical procedures and tele‑dermatology appointments.
• Engage in CPD, SPA appraisal, revalidation and service development activities.
• Contribute to ward‑round rota and provide non‑resident on‑call support (low frequency).
• Collaborate closely with Plastic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Oral Medicine, Clinical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Renal Transplant and Haemato‑Oncology colleagues.
• Support the development of the dermatology service and improve collaborative patient care with other specialties.

The successful candidate will join a renowned Dermatology department with 27 existing consultants, six specialist registrars and two clinical fellows, offering opportunities to learn from experienced consultants, train the next generation of Dermatologists and participate in research.
