Are you confident working with pupils with significant needs and committed to helping them feel safe, understood, and included?
The Role:
SEN Teaching Assistant (Nursery)
We are seeking a male SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a young boy in Nursery with significant developmental and communication needs. The pupil is currently awaiting an EHCP, and requires consistent, personalised support throughout the school day.
Your role will include:
* Supporting a pre-verbal autistic pupil using tailored strategies to encourage communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
* Assisting with access to learning and sensory activities within a structured EYFS environment
* Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider staff team
* Promoting positive interactions, independence, and appropriate behaviour
* Implementing strategies advised by external professionals
This role requires someone who is:
* Physically strong
* Incredibly resilient
* Able to support and, when necessary, safely restrain the pupil following training and school guidelines
* A strong team player who can communicate effectively within a highly supportive EYFS team
