BSL Learning Support Assistant
Minimum of Level 2 or Level 3 Qualified/Unqualified. Full‑time (Mon‑Fri). Greenwich Secondary School. January 2026.
OverviewA dynamic and forward‑thinking secondary school is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with hearing impairments in its specialist unit.
Responsibilities- Support 11‑18 year old pupils with a range of hearing needs across the school.
- Translate spoken language into BSL competently within a mainstream classroom.
- Assist during school hours (Mon‑Fri); exact hours to be confirmed.
- BSL qualification (Level 2 desirable).
- Knowledge of Makaton.
- Strong English skills; able to adapt spoken and written English to make materials accessible.
Greenwich Secondary School, based in Greenwich, caters for students aged 11‑18 and offers a specialist deaf provision. The school has a broad and balanced curriculum that includes core subjects, arts and sports, and values mutual respect and tolerance.
