About the Department

This role is part of the wider Student Experience department, which is dedicated to delivering an excellent student journey throughout the full student lifecycle—from application and admission through to progression and graduation.

You will be joining Wellbeing Services, a key area within the Student Experience department. Wellbeing Services provides essential support to Arden students, including Disability and Accessibility services and Mental Health and Wellbeing support. The team plays a central role in fostering an inclusive, supportive, and positive environment that enables every student to thrive.

About the Opportunity

This role forms part of a brand‑new, in‑house assessment initiative supporting Arden’s degree apprenticeship learners. You will play a key role in ensuring that learners with declared disabilities receive high‑quality, timely, and compliant support.

The post involves preparing for and conducting needs assessment meetings, and producing clear, accurate assessment reports for apprenticeship learners with a range of disabilities—including Specific Learning Differences, mental health conditions, long‑term medical conditions, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments.

You will work in line with all relevant Ofsted and ESFA regulations, time frames, and guidance, helping to ensure that every learner receives the adjustments and support they need to succeed.

About You

You will bring a strong background in supporting learners with diverse needs, along with the expertise required to deliver high‑quality, compliant assessments. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience delivering Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) Student Needs Assessments or Access to Work Assessments, with a clear understanding of relevant frameworks and reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting or advising students with a wide range of disabilities or complex needs, either within higher education or in the workplace.
  • Broad experience across multiple disability categories, including Specific Learning Differences, mental health conditions, autistic spectrum conditions, sensory impairments, mobility impairments, and long‑term medical conditions.

You will be able to work with empathy, accuracy, and professionalism, ensuring each learner receives a tailored and high‑quality assessment experience.
