From £25,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor / Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team on a permanent, full-time, term-time only basis starting January 2026. This role is ideal for a confident, reliable and resilient professional with strong behaviour management skills and experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Role Overview
  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
  • Support pupils to regulate their behaviour, build resilience and engage fully in learning
  • Implement behaviour plans and de-escalation strategies
  • Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and wider support staff
  • Maintain a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Encourage independence, emotional development and social skills
Person Specification
  • Have proven experience in UK schools, ideally supporting SEMH pupils
  • Have strong and consistent behaviour management skills
  • Are calm, firm, and empathetic when working with challenging behaviours
  • Are reliable, professional and committed to making a positive difference
  • Can build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Hold an enhanced DBS (or are willing to obtain one)
