Full-time | Long-term | Term-time only
We are currently recruiting a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work within Primary and Secondary Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) across the Camberwell and Tooting areas.
This role is ideal for individuals with experience in youth offending, gang intervention, county lines prevention, mentoring, or alternative provision, who are passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to re-engage with education and make positive life choices.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex SEMH and behavioural needs
Support pupils who are at risk of or affected by criminal exploitation, gang involvement or county lines
Help pupils regulate emotions, manage behaviour and develop coping strategies
Assist teaching staff with classroom delivery and behaviour management
Act as a consistent, positive role model for pupils who may struggle with authority or boundaries
Support pupils both in and out of the classroom, including during unstructured times
Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and external agencies
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with at-risk children or young people, ideally within:
Youth Offending Teams (YOT)
Gang prevention or violence reduction projects
County lines or contextual safeguarding roles
PRUs, alternative provision or SEMH settings
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
A calm, resilient and trauma-informed approach
Understanding of safeguarding, exploitation risks and professional boundaries
The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
