Career Teachers is working in partnership with a specialist Secondary School in Islington supporting pupils agedwith Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and associated needs. The school offers a structured, nurturing environment and places strong emphasis on inclusion, independence, and pupil wellbeing.
We are currently recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to support students across the school on a full-time basis.
The Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties, both in class and during structured activities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to promote engagement and progress
Assist with delivering differentiated and practical learning activities
Support students with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and independence
Implement EHCP targets, learning plans, and behaviour support strategies
Work closely with class teachers and other professionals to support pupil outcomes
The Ideal Candidate :
Experience supporting children or young people with MLD or additional needs (school, care, or community settings)
A patient, calm, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine commitment to inclusive education and SEN support
SEN school experience is desirable but not essential
