The RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer in Psychology to deliver high-quality, student-centred teaching across undergraduate and/or postgraduate psychology programmes. The role contributes to the design, development and delivery of engaging modules aligned with British Psychological Society (BPS) standards, while providing strong academic and pastoral support to students.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver lectures, seminars and tutorials in line with approved programme specifications
- Design and update module content, teaching materials and VLE resources
- Act as Module Leader where required
- Set, mark and moderate assessments, providing timely formative and summative feedback
- Monitor student engagement, attendance and academic progress
- Provide personal tutoring and supervise undergraduate and/or postgraduate projects
- Contribute to quality assurance and programme evaluation processes
- Engage in scholarship and/or research to inform teaching
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the student experience
- Master’s degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline
- Experience teaching and assessing in higher education within psychology
- Strong communication, digital and organisational skills
- Student-focused, inclusive and innovative approach to teaching
- Willingness to work towards a PGCE and Fellowship of Advance HE (if not already held)
- Graduate or Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) or willingness to work towards
- Experience contributing to BPS-aligned or BPS-accredited programmes
- Knowledge of BPS standards, ethics and quality assurance frameworks
- PhD (or working towards) or equivalent professional experience
- Research and/or professional practice experience in psychology
- Experience of innovative or blended learning approaches
- Some evening and occasional weekend teaching required
- Willingness to work across college sites
- Commitment to professional development and widening participation
