1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary School (Complex Needs)
Location: Secondary School Setting
Pay: 95-115 per day
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a secondary-aged pupil with complex needs in a supportive and structured school environment.
This role involves providing consistent, tailored support to help the pupil access learning, regulate emotions and develop independence. You will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to deliver personalised strategies that meet the pupil's individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with complex learning and behavioural needs
- Support access to lessons through adapted and differentiated activities
- Use structured routines, visuals and clear communication strategies
- Support emotional regulation and behaviour management
- Promote independence, confidence and engagement
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and support staff
- Support personal care where required
- Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs (school or care background)
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Understanding of behaviour support and de-escalation strategies
- Confident working on a 1:1 basis
- Willingness to support personal care
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
